DAY 4 -Community Living Camp
The fourth day of the Community Living Camp “Niramayam” began early in the morning with a yoga session, which helped refresh our body and mind and prepared us for the day’s activities. After yoga, the morning assembly was conducted by our team, Loka, followed by breakfast. The students then made arrangements in the seminar hall for the day’s programmes.
For the day’s activities, duties were assigned as follows: the Yodha group was responsible for programme arrangements, the Kalki group managed food and refreshments, the Loka group handled management and cleaning, and the Dheera group took charge of documentation.
At 10:00 a.m., a Digital Thakkol Programme was organized in the college with the aim of empowering Kudumbashree women by creating awareness about the use of digital gadgets such as laptops and mobile phones. The session was conducted by Sree Damin Jose and Sreemathi Anjali Murali, Teacher, SVMCTE, Vendar. Students actively assisted the participants by guiding them individually and clarifying their doubts.The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Adhithya U., Second-year student of SVMCTE, Vendar.
At 2:00 p.m., the Swachh Vidyalayam Programme was conducted at SVM Model L.P. School. As part of this programme, the students actively participated in cleaning the school campus and surroundings. The classrooms, garden area, and school premises were cleaned thoroughly. Flower pots were arranged, and the garden was beautified with plants.
After completing the programme, the students returned to the college and had a tea break. After refreshing themselves, at 6:30 p.m., a Nadakakalari programme focusing on art and drama was conducted. The session helped students understand how theatre and performance arts can be integrated into learning and teaching. The programme was highly interactive and engaging, encouraging creativity and self-expression among students.
Following the session, a prayer was conducted, and dinner was served.
The day concluded with a cultural programme, during which members from each group came forward and shared their opinions and reflections about the day’s activities. Overall, the fourth day of the camp was productive, educational, and socially meaningful, leaving a lasting impact on all participants.
