SECOND PHASE TEACHING PRACTICE -SECOND WEEK(OCTOBER- 20 - 25)
October 20, Monday
Today was a public holiday on account of Diwali. Hence, no regular classes were conducted.
October 21, Tuesday
In the 4th period, I had a class in 9A, where I taught the topic Hemodialysis.During the 6th period, I got a substitution class in 8A and taught the topic Meristematic Tissues.
October 22, Wednesday
In the 3rd period, I had a class in 8A. I taught the topic Animal Cell using the Concept Attainment Model, which helped students understand the structure and functions of the animal cell through examples and non-examples.
October 23, Thursday
According to the timetable, I handled 9A during the 2nd period and taught the topic Kidney Transplantation.
In the 5th period, I received a substitution in 8A, where I taught the topic Stem Cells.
October 24, Friday
Today, the school conducted Kalolsavam. Students actively participated in various cultural programmes such as music, dance, and other art forms. The school campus was lively and colourful throughout the day.
October 25, Saturday
As per Monday’s timetable, Saturday classes were conducted. I had a regular class in 9A, where I taught the topic Excretion in Other Organisms and Plants.
In the 5th period, I again received a substitution in the same class and taught the topic Maintenance of Homeostasis.
Weekly Summary (October 20–25)
This week included both academic and co-curricular activities. We reported to school by 9:15 a.m. and left by 3:50 p.m. each working day. Although October 20 was a holiday due to Diwali, the remaining days were academically productive.
I handled regular and substitution classes in Classes 8 and 9, teaching topics such as hemodialysis, kidney transplantation, animal cell, meristematic tissues, stem cells, excretion in other organisms and plants, and maintenance of homeostasis using suitable teaching models and methods.Use ICT activity cards, and chart.We also assisted daily in serving the mid-day meal.The Kalolsavam celebration on October 24 provided students with opportunities to showcase their talents and added cultural vibrancy to the week. Overall, the week was well-balanced, combining effective teaching, student engagement, and active participation in school programmes.
