DAY 1 -Community Living Camp
The first day of the Community Living Camp “Niramayam” began on Tuesday, December 2. All participants arrived at the college by 9:00 a.m., and the registration process was completed smoothly.
Following registration, duties were carried out as planned. The Loka and Dheera teams efficiently handled stage arrangements, food, and refreshments, while the Yodha and Kalki teams took responsibility for overall management and cleaning. In addition, documentation work was successfully managed by the Yodha team. All teams performed their duties responsibly and with excellent coordination.At 10:00 a.m., the inaugural ceremony commenced with an invocatory prayer by the College Choir. The welcome address was delivered by Ms. Athira V. S., Vice Principal, SVMCTE, Vendar. The programme was presided over by Dr. Lalamani P., Principal, SVMCTE, Vendar.The Community Living Camp was formally inaugurated by Sri. Goutham Krishna, Manager, SVMCTE, Vendar, who also delivered the keynote address, explaining the importance of community living and the meaning of “Niramayam.”
The message was delivered by Sri. P. A. Sajimon, NSS Kollam District Coordinator, highlighting the values of service, cooperation, and social responsibility.As part of the programme, Sri. Damin Jose (Computer Programmer, SVMCTE, Vendar) was honoured. The session also included the distribution of trophies to B.Ed. subject toppers, recognizing their academic excellence. In addition, diapers were distributed to palliative care patients, reflecting the social commitment of the camp. A token of love was presented to Krishnendu U. S., who suggested the name Niramayam.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Ruksana S. (Student).At 2:00 p.m., a Craft Workshop was conducted. The session was handled by Ms. Roopa V. K. (Teacher, SVMMHSS, Vendar) and was both informative and engaging. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Akshay Krishnan G. S. (Student).
