Teaching Practice Fifth Week(August 11 - August 16)

August 11, Monday

As per the timetable, I had a class in 9 A during the 3rd period. I taught the topic Health of the Heart using the Inquiry Training Model, which helped students think critically and participate actively in the discussion.

August 12, Tuesday

In the 4th period, I had a class in 9 A where I taught Vascular Tissues in Plants using the 5E Model of teaching. The lesson encouraged exploration and student-centered learning.

August 13, Wednesday

During the 3rd period, I had a class in 8 A and taught the topic Timeline and Cosmic Calendar using ICT tools.  Later, I got two period substitution in the same class and provided notes to the students for revision.

August 14, Thursday

In the 2nd period, according to the timetable, I taught the topic Transport in Plants in 9 A. The class included examples and discussions to relate the concept with real-life observations.

August 15, Friday

Today, the school celebrated Independence Day. We reached the school by 8:00 a.m., and the celebration included patriotic songs, speeches, and cultural programs that filled everyone with pride and enthusiasm.

August 16, Saturday

An Achievement Test was conducted in 9 A. With permission, I took a class to administer the test. Since the timetable followed Friday’s schedule, I did not have  regular class on 9 A. A special assembly was also conducted by Class 10 A in connection with Karshaka Dinam (Farmers’ Day). Students presented speeches and songs appreciating the efforts of farmers. Only a half-day session was held today as the Onam examinations were scheduled to begin the following week.

Weekly Summary (August 11–16)

This week was academically productive and eventful. We reported to school by 9:15 a.m. and left by 3:50 p.m. each day. Along with teaching and evaluation, we actively participated in the Independence Day and Karshaka Dinam programs. I used innovative methods such as the Inquiry Training Model, 5E Model, and ICT-based teaching, which made lessons more interactive and effective. We also continued to assist in serving the mid-day meal daily. The week concluded with the Achievement Test, marking a successful end before the start of the Onam examinations.
