CHANDRA DINAM CELEBRATION 🌚
The Chandra Dinam (Moon Day) was celebrated on 21st July 2025 at KSMVHSS, Edavattom. Though the world observes this day on 20th July, our school marked it on 21st July (Monday) to ensure full participation of students and teachers. The celebration aimed to remind us of the historic moment when man first set foot on the Moon in 1969 and to highlight the importance of space research and scientific progress.
The program began with a special morning assembly. The school choir presented a melodious prayer song, followed by a welcome address by our Headmistress, Smt. Smitha Ma’am, who encouraged students to develop curiosity and interest in science and space exploration.
Students of Class 9 took the lead in organizing cultural and educational programs. A student dressed as Neil Armstrong captured everyone’s attention and drew great applause. Placards featuring eminent scientists like C.V. Raman, Marie Curie, Albert Einstein, and Robert Hooke were displayed, and students spoke briefly about their contributions to science.
A speech on the importance of Moon Day inspired students to appreciate the courage of astronauts and the value of scientific research. To add a practical touch, a group of students also conducted a simple chemistry experiment, which made the day more interactive and meaningful.
