WORLD CANCER DAY

On the 4th  February 2025, the Natural Science Department of Sri Vidyadhiraja Model College of Teacher Education, Vendar, Kottarakkara, organized a meaningful and impactful program in observance of World Cancer Day. The event took place in the college seminar hall at 3:00 PM with the theme "United by Unique", aiming to raise awareness about cancer and promote proactive health practices.

The program commenced with a heartfelt and thought-provoking speech delivered by Ms. Snehamol, who addressed the significance of World Cancer Day, the emotional toll of cancer, and the importance of early detection and collective support. Her words resonated deeply with the audience, setting a reflective tone for the rest of the session.

Following the speech, Our Department presented an informative and visually engaging video presentation. This video covered a comprehensive overview of cancer — including its causes, types, prevention strategies, and available treatments. The presentation served as a powerful educational tool, helping participants gain deeper insights into the subject in a concise yet impactful manner.

The session concluded with an exciting quiz competition, which tested the knowledge of participants on the information shared during the program. The event saw active participation from students across departments. Anju Das from the Social Science Department emerged as the winner of the quiz competition. As a token of appreciation, she was gifted a pen by the organizing team.

The program was a resounding success, both in terms of participation and its objective of spreading cancer awareness. As the organizing department, Our Department was proud to lead this initiative, fostering a sense of social responsibility and health consciousness among future educators.
