WORLD METEOROLOGICAL DAY- Commerce Subject Association

The Department of Commerce at Sri Vidyadhiraja Model College of Teacher Education is organizing a special event in celebration of World Meteorological Day. The program is scheduled to be held on the 28th of March, 2025, in the college Seminar Hall. Although world meteorological day is officially observed on March 23rd each year,but we celebrated it on march 28.This observance highlights the importance of meteorology and weather awareness in daily life and environmental conservation.

The event poster creatively showcases the theme by depicting the Earth with a mix of weather phenomena such as thunderstorms, rain, and sunshine, emphasizing the dynamic nature of the planet's climate. The visual elements serve as a reminder of the vital role meteorological science plays in understanding and adapting to atmospheric changes.

As part of the celebration, engaging activities such as puzzles and riddles will be conducted, fostering interactive learning and student participation. These programs are designed not only to entertain but also to educate attendees about meteorological concepts in a fun and accessible way. The initiative reflects the department’s commitment to promoting scientific awareness and environmental responsibility among future educators.The theme for World Meteorological Day 2025 is "Closing the early warning gap together".

The educational tour titled Thimirpp , organized by the SVMCTE 24–26 batch, was an exhilarating and memorable six-day journey that blended adventure, cultural immersion, and relaxation. The trip began on February 20, 2025, with students embarking on a well-organized tour to four popular destinations in Karnataka: Coorg, Chikkamagaluru, Bailoor (Belur), and Udupi. RISING AGAINST DRUG ABUSE - NSS INITIATIVES @ SVMCTE

On march 24, As part of the state-level initiative "Lahari Muktam Njanum Ente Kudumbavum" under the National Service Scheme (NSS), Our college SVMCTE, organized a series of powerful awareness activities aimed at eradicating drug abuse. The campaign included a poster-making competition, where students creatively depicted the harmful effects of drug use. The posters showcased a wide range of ideas—from the emotional struggles of addiction to the strength found in recovery—demonstrating the deep awareness and artistic talents of the participants. Reels were produced and shared on social media to spread strong anti-drug messages in a format relatable to today's youth. A high-energy flash mob was performed by students to grab public attention and convey the urgency of the issue. Pulamon Canal Cleaning Programme

On October 4,2024,the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of our college SVMCTE took part in the Clean Kerala initiative by organizing a cleanup event at the Pulamon canal in Kottarakkara. The volunteers worked diligently to remove waste, debris, and pollutants from the canal, contributing to the improvement of local water quality and the overall cleanliness of the area. This effort not only helped in preserving the natural ecosystem but also raised awareness among the local community about the importance of maintaining clean water bodies for both ecological balance and public health.
