FIELD TRIP ✨️
The educational tour titled Thimirpp, organized by the SVMCTE 24–26 batch, was an exhilarating and memorable six-day journey that blended adventure, cultural immersion, and relaxation. The trip began on February 20, 2025, with students embarking on a well-organized tour to four popular destinations in Karnataka: Coorg, Chikkamagaluru, Bailoor (Belur), and Udupi. Traveling in a 49-seater airbus, the tour provided an excellent opportunity for students to explore the beauty of nature, enjoy exciting activities, and bond with classmates outside the academic environment.
The first day commenced with students departing from college at 3:00 PM. The bus journey itself was lively, filled with music, laughter, and games. It set the perfect tone for the tour ahead, helping students settle into the rhythm of travel and connect with one another. The atmosphere of excitement and curiosity made the overnight journey enjoyable and full of anticipation for the days to come.
Upon arrival in Coorg on the second day, students were given time to freshen up and enjoy a traditional breakfast. The day’s itinerary was packed with scenic spots, starting with the serene Harangi Dam, followed by the majestic Golden Temple, also known as the Namdroling Monastery, which offered a peaceful cultural experience rooted in Tibetan Buddhism. After lunch, the group visited the lush Bamboo Forest, where students took nature walks and enjoyed the fresh air. The evening concluded with a vibrant DJ night, bringing energy and joy to the group before dinner and overnight rest in Coorg.
On the third day, the group set off early for Chikkamagaluru. After a breakfast stop in Hassan, the adventure began with a trek to the Mullayanagiri Peak—the highest peak in Karnataka. The day continued with visits to several stunning natural locations, including Vanamala Waterfalls, Z Point, and 360-degree viewpoints offering panoramic scenes of the Western Ghats. Bababudan Giri and an underground temple added historical and spiritual depth to the experience. A hilltop lunch provided both nourishment and breathtaking views. The day concluded with a warm dinner and a relaxing stay in Chikkamagaluru.
The fourth day brought a shift in energy with thrilling water sports in Bailoor. Students engaged in banana rides, kayaking, and rafting, activities that required teamwork and encouraged a sense of adventure. After an exciting and energetic morning, the group had lunch in Bailoor before traveling to Udupi in the evening. The day ended with dinner and a good night’s rest, preparing everyone for the final leg of the tour.
The fifth day was a beautiful blend of spirituality and coastal exploration. The group began the day with a visit to the renowned Sri Krishna Swami Temple in Udupi, followed by a trip to Malpe Beach. A boat ride to the scenic St. Mary’s Island was one of the highlights, offering a unique chance to experience nature’s beauty up close. The students spent time taking photographs, enjoying the sea breeze, and making the most of the short island visit. After lunch, the group began the return journey, stopping at Kannur for dinner before continuing home.
