A WORKSHOP ON STRESS MANAGEMENT 💆

On January 15, 2025, Sri Vidyadhiraja Model College of Teacher Education, Vendar, Kottarakkara, hosted an insightful workshop on Stress Management at the college auditorium. The session began with a warm welcome by our respected Principal, Dr. Lalamani P, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the esteemed resource person, Dr. Shinudas S, a renowned Consultant Psychologist.

Dr. Shinudas S captivated the audience from the start by sharing his own personal journey and experiences dealing with stress. His engaging storytelling set a relatable tone for the session. He then interacted with the students by asking thought-provoking questions about the causes and impact of stress in their daily lives, which sparked active participation and self-reflection among the attendees.

The workshop was filled with a variety of engaging and therapeutic activities. One of the most memorable moments was the “imaginary Chenda Melam”—a fun and energetic group activity that lifted everyone’s spirits. Laughter and rhythm filled the room, creating a positive and lively atmosphere.

To encourage leadership and teamwork, Dr. Shinudas divided the participants into groups. He taught a relaxing and rhythmic dance to the team leaders, who then passed it on to their respective teams. This unique approach not only helped in stress relief but also strengthened group dynamics and peer bonding.

Following this, the session continued with calming breathing exercises and an invigorating round of laughter therapy. These exercises proved to be highly effective in promoting mental relaxation and emotional well-being.

Overall, the workshop was a truly refreshing experience. It helped students understand the importance of managing stress in a healthy manner and equipped them with practical techniques to stay mentally balanced and emotionally resilient. The session concluded with a collective feeling of lightness, joy, and deep gratitude towards Dr. Shinudas S for his impactful guidance.

RISING AGAINST DRUG ABUSE - NSS INITIATIVES @ SVMCTE

On march 24, As part of the state-level initiative "Lahari Muktam Njanum Ente Kudumbavum" under the National Service Scheme (NSS), Our college SVMCTE, organized a series of powerful awareness activities aimed at eradicating drug abuse. The campaign included a poster-making competition, where students creatively depicted the harmful effects of drug use. The posters showcased a wide range of ideas—from the emotional struggles of addiction to the strength found in recovery—demonstrating the deep awareness and artistic talents of the participants. Reels were produced and shared on social media to spread strong anti-drug messages in a format relatable to today's youth. A high-energy flash mob was performed by students to grab public attention and convey the urgency of the issue. Pulamon Canal Cleaning Programme

On October 4,2024,the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of our college SVMCTE took part in the Clean Kerala initiative by organizing a cleanup event at the Pulamon canal in Kottarakkara. The volunteers worked diligently to remove waste, debris, and pollutants from the canal, contributing to the improvement of local water quality and the overall cleanliness of the area. This effort not only helped in preserving the natural ecosystem but also raised awareness among the local community about the importance of maintaining clean water bodies for both ecological balance and public health.
