IAS Orientation Programme at SN College,Kollam

On 26th October,2024, NSS conducted a program, 'ONE CAMPUS ONE IAS'. Five NSS volunteers from our institution attended this NSS programme, where a professional civil services officer delivered a moral and orientation class. They also conducted an aptitude test to assess the children's capacity, knowledge, and provide experience with aptitude tests. 
                   The programme was conducted at SN College, Kollam, which had the distinction of hosting Kerala's first-ever orientation class for this initiative. We feel privileged to have been a part of this pioneering effort, and we consider it a huge opportunity for us.

On march 24, As part of the state-level initiative "Lahari Muktam Njanum Ente Kudumbavum" under the National Service Scheme (NSS), Our college SVMCTE, organized a series of powerful awareness activities aimed at eradicating drug abuse. The campaign included a poster-making competition, where students creatively depicted the harmful effects of drug use. The posters showcased a wide range of ideas—from the emotional struggles of addiction to the strength found in recovery—demonstrating the deep awareness and artistic talents of the participants. Reels were produced and shared on social media to spread strong anti-drug messages in a format relatable to today's youth. A high-energy flash mob was performed by students to grab public attention and convey the urgency of the issue. SECOND PHASE TEACHING PRACTICE -SECOND WEEK(OCTOBER- 20 - 25)

October 20, Monday Today was a public holiday on account of Diwali. Hence, no regular classes were conducted. October 21, Tuesday In the 4th period, I had a class in 9A, where I taught the topic Hemodialysis. During the 6th period, I got a substitution class in 8A and taught the topic Meristematic Tissues. October 22, Wednesday In the 3rd period, I had a class in 8A. I taught the topic Animal Cell using the Concept Attainment Model, which helped students understand the structure and functions of the animal cell through examples and non-examples. October 23, Thursday According to the timetable, I handled 9A during the 2nd period and taught the topic Kidney Transplantation. In the 5th period, I received a substitution in 8A, where I taught the topic Stem Cells. October 24, Friday Today, the school conducted Kalolsavam. Teaching Practice -Fourth week ( August 4 - August 8)

August 4, Monday Today, a morning assembly was conducted by 9 B. During the 3rd period, I had a class in 9 A and taught the "structure of the heart" using my innovative work. My interactive heart chart, designed like a WhatsApp conversation, helped students understand the topic easily and made the lesson more engaging. August 5, Tuesday In 9 A, I taught the "working of the heart "during my class. In the 6 th period, I had a substitution class in 9 A, where I taught "Heartbeat and ECG". August 6, Wednesday Today, in observance of Hiroshima Day, the school conducted a quiz program. After that quiz winners are selected. Then I taught Class 8 the topic "Contributions of Scientists in Chemical Evolution". Later, during a substitution in 9 A, I taught "pulse and blood pressure".
